Setting boundaries:sinful or survival? Speaker: Alli Street
Alli grew up on the south coast of Sydney. It was at the end of her university studies that God captured her heart and showed her that life without Jesus is empty and meaningless. This lead her (several years later) to study a BD at Moore College. She currently serves as the women’s minister at MBM Church in Sydney’s multicultural west. Now in her 10th year of ministry Alli says she learnt the hard way that we need to set healthy and loving boundaries in our relationships. She hopes this seminar can help some women avoid the pitfalls she fell into.
4/8/12
Being a fearless woman in life & ministry Speaker: Mary O'Brien

Mary who trained as an early childhood educator has found great joy working alongside her husband, Peter, and their family over the past four decades in encouraging Christians at home and in overseas cross-cultural situations. Many varied experiences have challenged her in her desire to be a fearless woman for Christ. Peter and Mary are members of All Saint's Petersham church.

Planning your ministry year for 2013 Speaker: Cathey Clarke

Planning is something that Cath has been learning over her life, first as a Registered Nurse and Midwife, then as a mother of three great kids ( now teenagers and young adults) and sharing her life with her husband Bruce as he has worked as a Christian Minister for the last 20 years and more recently at St Matthew's Manly. Still learning and squeezing in a bit of sewing, ceramics, reading and walks with friends, Cath enjoys being involved in making Jesus famous through His word.
The first seminar will be in Room C (entrance off Carillon Ave), the remaining 3 will be in the Lower Lecture Room in the main lecture building.
If you would like the Priscilla and Aquila Centre to run seminars in your church / ministry situation / for your staff / ministry team, on issues to do with men and women in ministry together, issues that come up for women in ministry, then please contact Jane Tooher, jane.tooher@moore.edu.au

(vi) T2 Women: Ministry Apprenticeships for ‘older’ women (Michelle Philp, Ben & Emma Pfahlert)
‘T2 women’ is a variation of the MTS apprenticeships, designed specifically for women who want to be trained in, and do, ministry, but due to family circumstances or stage of life won’t be able to study at a theological college or work full time for a church. It aims to give women confidence in handling God’s word so they can ‘teach what is good’ to the younger women at their churches. This seminar is for anyone wanting to know how they can set up such an apprenticeship at their church and women interested doing a T2 apprenticeship. Michelle is the Women’s Ministry co-ordinator and trainer at Crossroads Church in Canberra.

(vii) Should men and women rebuke and correct differently? (Archie Poulos)
The Apostle Paul calls elders to rebuke, correct and train, but he also calls on Christians to treat different groups of people in appropriately different ways. This elective will explore what these differences will look like in our day to day ministries. The aim is to help both male and female leaders, and the teams they minister in to think constructively about complementary style and methods of ministry.
Format: Archie will speak, then he will ask the group for their experiences that he will comment on, and then there will be question time.
