Why my family still doesn’t do sleepovers by Tim Challies 13/11/2017

This is an old five-minute video in which Challies explains why he and his wife decided their children weren’t going to do sleepovers. I think this is a really helpful video to watch, whether someone has children or not, on a very important but often neglected topic.

Challies has some further ideas about sleepovers on his website.

Phillip asks: John Chapman by Phillip Jensen and John Chapman 19/06/2012

Part 1

Australian evangelist John Chapman died aged 82 in 2012. Phillip Jensen interviewed him five months before his death.

In Part 1, Phillip asks John how he became a Christian, what his early days of being a Christian and being in vocational ministry were like, and what the state of both the Sydney and Armidale dioceses were in those early days. Both Part 1 and Part 2 are a very precious resource and worth listening to. Part 1 is much longer than Part 2.

Part 2

In Part 2 Phillip, asks John about John Stott doing expository preaching in Sydney and the incredible impact that that had on the diocese when after Stott’s visit, John and Dudley Foord trained clergy so that they would be able to do expository preaching. John also shares how the Armidale diocese prepared for the 1959 Billy Graham visit, and the importance of trusting in God’s word.
